Disappearing Nine Patch with Minkee

Marcy made this bright colored Disappearing Nine Patch quilt for a new baby boy. On the label, she embroidered a cute caterpillar. I couldn't resist adding some adorable critters of my own. I quilted in a snail, butterfly, dragonfly and a bumble bee to the meander quilting.

The batting was Hobb's Warm and White, which quilted up beautifully with the Minkee backing.  This is a very comfy quilt.

Thanks Marcy for the pleasure of helping you finish this keepsake.

Flowers and Birds

This was a nice collection of fabrics and the pattern Carol picked was perfect to showcase them!  The piecing is very simple, yet beautiful.  Great job!

I chose a So Fine thread in Campfire that matched beautifully with the reddish-pink marble that makes up the nine patches, and a lead grey for the backing as it was lighter in color.

Basic medium stipple quilting was all that this quilt needed.

Modern Twister

I have just listed this quilt for sale in my shop

It is a Modern Twister in lots of fun, large scale prints, with a lego style building block fabric for the border, backing and binding.

The quilting is semi-custom as it is a continuous line that gives the blocks a spinning effect, and the border is a simple stipple meander.

The batting is Winline Comfort Blend 80/20. Thread is Superior So Fine and Magna Glide Classics in the bobbin.

The quilt has been washed and dried on hot settings for maximum shrinkage. Don't you just love a quilt with that shriveled up look? I sure do! Makes you want to cuddle up and read a good book!

Wild Coins on Black

What a fun baby quilt I had the pleasure of quilting.

Denise chose a simple swirl pattern with variegated thread. The batting was Warm & Natural 100% Cotton.
